3rd Sunday of Easter
The disciples make a big splash and eat breakfast with the risen Jesus. Wading in
the water (remembering baptism) and eating with Jesus (celebrating holy
communion) is our weekly encounter with the risen Christ. Jesus asks us again and
again: Do you love me? And Jesus invites us, again and again, to follow him,
bringing the Easter life to others.
The Easter life is the free gift of new life in heavenly places, in Christ ‘s righteousness and not by any effort man could ever try to muster up. Jesus took us to the cross where our sin natures went down into death with him there. Then our old sin nature was buried and stayed in the grave. Christ made us completely new creations by our resurrection with him and seated us in heavenly places in his righteousness, at the throne of God.
God took us All of these places, from the cross where we died to heavenly places where we are seated and complete in Christ Jesus our Lord, all freely given and apart from anything dead sinners could’ve done. Like, Peter he took us where we would not have wished to go. We would never have chosen heaven over earth
Thank you for the lovely worship experience. I live at Wheaton Homes, but have a hard time getting out, at times, because of physical and emotional reasons.
The faith of the Church is actually the faith of Christ, the head of our family.
